When I popped in to check on Max the other day, I thought it would very a very quick look in and then I would jump over to either Melani Banks, or The Waters Family. I should learn that what ever I think never turns out to my the case with my sims. I mean, I thought the Waters would be one family that I didn't end up playing and look how that turned out. I thought Melani Banks would be boring and play the suburban role of happy families, and look at her.

So why, when I look at Max, his maxed out career and easy going single life, did I think it would be boring? Did I honestly thing the game would let me lose interest in him? Because honestly, I was thinking along the lines of not bothering with him anymore and instead just concentrate on the two "family" sims. Nope, not going to happen.

While Max is off with Melani doing things he really shouldn't, it seems Bella has been busy making new "friends" of her own. During the middle of one of Max's concerts the other night, Bella decided to pop into town to pick up a few groceries... but that's not all she checked out.

Judging by that last image and the negative thoughts about Bella, she's either gotten around town a bit more before Max met her. Or, they're friends of Max and know that she should either be at the concert or at home. Either way... I can't see Bella and Max lasting long if their both going to let their eyes wander...

Ironically, not long after Bella got back home I had the following message pop up

Photobucket

Hrm... I wonder if there was anything behind that friendship break.

P.S. I don't even want to KNOW what is going on in the background behind Bella!!!

As mentioned last night, Max and Bella Bachelor seemed to hit it off really well. After their connection, Max went home and immediately had the wish come up to invite Bella over. I figured it was a bit late that night, so sent him to bed to get a good nights sleep and invited her over the following night. Conveniently, that happened to be a Saturday night which meant there would be no need for her rush home... if you get my drift.

Apparently Max was already waaaaay ahead of me lol. As soon as she arrived, he was touching her, holding her, kissing and generally all over her. Think he had something on his mind? He could't have been more obvious if he opened the door naked lol.

I was trying not to pay too much attention to them as it just feels a little creepy to watch my sims grope each other, but I couldn't help but notice something a tad odd when I did glance over. Have a look at this image:

Photobucket

See the guy in the background? He rocked up right as Bella did. So either Bella is being followed (can that happen?) or Max's celebrity status means that the paparazzi wants to catch a photo of him with a new female in tow. I zoomed right over to see what he was doing, and give it's night time, he's not helping the suspicion factor by reading a newspaper... in the dark.

Photobucket

Something was really funky with that. I've not really felt unnerved by a sim before lol, it was a weird feeling. I didn't know what to do about it - send Max out to tell him to bugger off? Perhaps I should have. Instead Max just hit inside... well, some people call it hiding lol.

Photobucket

Yup, Bella and Max woo hooing it up. They hit it off REALLY well!

Death is in the air around Max's town and sims are dropping like flies! I mentioned recently that my town sims are aging way too fast - faster than Max is that's for sure. Still in the prime of his life as a young sim (although teetering on the brink of having to grow up into a adult), his recent encounters with Blair seem to have been too little too late. Blair is now an elder! :( I got quite annoyed at this as Melani, who I'm trying to move away from, appears to be aging at the same rate as Max, yet everyone else is not. I need to track her down when she's around Eric (her husband remember...) and see if he's the same age as her, or if he's an Elder too.

This really is quite annoying that everyone is aging so quick. Not only does it make relationships outside Max's household nearly impossible for any length of time, I'm continuously coming into contact with sims I've never even heard of before. I feel like every adventure into town is like his first. So many new faces...

Of course, in with the new can only mean one thing - out with the old. I'm not seeing any new houses popping up, and the younger sims need somewhere to live. Tonight, in the space of about 3 hours playing time, I witnessed two sims passing. Ironic since I got given this opportunity not five minutes into playing...

Photobucket

At first I thought I would take a trip up to the graveyard and borrow Ayesha. However now I'm thinking I'll just wait around a bit and pick up the remains of the next one to drop...

I managed to capture videos of the two sims that passed tonight, and I'm glad I did as I found the first one quite amusing. I've never seen a ghost beg for his life before hehe. That amusement was quickly replaced by surprise as a picnic rug was placed before the poor guys remains had settled lol!

I kinda hit the video key automatically as soon as I saw the poor guy sparkling. I knew something interesting was about to happen and, sadistically, assumed it was death lol. That same reaction came in very handy when townie number 2 passed away as it allowed me to discover and record that the Grim Reaper is apparently, not a fan. I'm surprised he's not into the rock n roll. I thought he would have been right into the hard rock, head banging, heavy metal scene. Perhaps he likes the calming sounds of classical instead? Who knows...

Tonight was also the first time I got to interact with the Grim Reaper which was cool. Poor Emily tried when Adrian died, hoping she could bargain (or beg) to have him brought back to life, but no such luck. Funny enough, she didn't try too hard when Grandpa sim died LOL. I tried with Max when the guy in the park died and got nothing, but this time I got one option - scare. How ironic that you can scare death.

Did I? Well you have to watch and see...

I LOVED the two thumbs down the Grim Reaper gives Max when he sees him lol (right before the scare), I thought that was hilarious. It also helped me justify scaring him haha. I got the option to scare twice (which you can see I did), and then I wasn't able to interact with him anymore. Interesting that I got those interaction options and then nothing. The chatting between the two was not controlled by me, I was simply a spectator. I had to laugh at the uncomfortable silence after haha, that was awesome!

So there you have it, the Grim Reaper doesn't think much of Max. That does not bode well for when it's his time to cross over...

Max is the first of my sims to have money, and I have to say, it's a VERY nice feeling! As mentioned recently, he acquired enough savings to buy into his favourite diner. Last night he decided it was time to move house and start living the proper rock style life.

Like pretty much all my sims, Max started out in the trailer park when he first moved to town. I kind of consider them rental trailers - a simple roof over a sims head when they first move to town. After a while though, the neighbours were getting annoyed at the noise created by all his parties, and it was getting a bit too cramped to have good ones anyway. So Max moved...

At the time, I was moving him more out of necessity than desire. I've mentioned it a couple of times now, but I'm so enjoying the actual play aspect of the game, I'm not concerning myself with building like I used to in previous sims games. Instead, with number 3, I'm slapping together very simple houses that 'make do' and nothing much more. Melani has had her house expanded as needed - a room for her grandma, another for the kids etc, but that's pretty much the best I've done. I've actually considered seeking out player made houses to use simply because I don't want to spend the time doing it myself. And I've NEVER used a player house before... ever.

Not wanting to spend time looking for the right house lol, Max was treated like all my other sim building a house - I threw up four walls, a roof and made sure his bathroom had a door. I didn't mean to make it so square, I was simply after a lot of space - Max needs room to bust his moves. When I looked at the completed job (5 minutes after I started it), I shrugged, adopted it as an old shed, barn or perhaps vacant warehouse and resumed playing. That seemed rather rockstar-ish to me. It'd do...

Photobucket

Now that Max is making a bit of money however, it's time to improve his living conditions. I had actually completely forgot you could collect money from the town businesses that you own shares in until I clicked to go to the diner for something to eat and saw the "collect money" option. A very easy $820 landed right in Max's pocket. Sweet!

I had also held two concerts over the weekend at the local stadium and was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of money made from those was significantly more than the previous gigs at the theatre. I had actually hoped it would be given the size difference. Max made $1,245 at his Friday night concert, and $1,497 on his Saturday night. Very nice, and much better than the $400 - $700 from the theater!

Being on a bit of a roll that weekend, and noticing I could once again hold an autograph session, I decided to end Max's busy weekend with another signing. After all, the last one netted me almost $2000, and I'm pretty sure I accidentally ended that one early. Let's see if I could do better...

Photobucket

Veeeeery nice! Definitely time to upgrade his living quarters!

Instead of just renovating his existing house, I decided that I would do this right and move him to a bigger lot. Upon scanning the town I found the perfect place!

Photobucket

I remember seeing this lot ages ago when I was checking out the town. I had completely forgotten about it until last night. It was so perfect for a rock star! Not only is it the most prestige lot in the entire town (I think so), it allows me to build my house right up against that huge rock there, that just screams privacy and all things good. That lot was made for Max!

And check out his backyard view!!!

Photobucket

This house will be my first real attempt at building in The Sims 3, and I have to say, so far so good. It was all starting to cost more than I had expected, so the house is no where near completed yet. I've only worked on the two bedrooms and the garden that divides them last night. When I noticed I was really low on cash I quickly finished off the walls so I could at least put a roof on the house. Hence the small size and lackluster kitchen/dining area at the moment. Once I have more money, that's the first thing that will be expanded.

Photobucket

My absolute favourite part of the house so far, and the part that sapped all my house funds, is the pond and garden area that the main bedroom, spare bedroom and current dining area open up on to.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

How awesome is that?! I'd LOVE to have something like that outside my bedroom window.

After the last piece of furniture was placed, Max was finally allowed to rest. Somehow the movers lost a couch which I am really annoyed at (just disappeared from the lot), but oh well, what can you do?

Time to go make some more money so I can keep building!!

Maybe I'm just a very understanding personal-space orientated person, but if I was to see someone serenading another, I would keep my distance. Sure, I'd probably have a little watch, I am human after all. But I'd watch from a distance, I wouldn't be trying to smell their breath.

Sims on the other hand, not so much. They want to make sure you're serenading properly and without the smell of your lunch on your words. Max was trying to woo Ayesha, who by the way REALLY needs to hitch up her pants, and in comes some granny...

Photobucket

Ok so fine, he is in central park, but that's where Ayesha happened to be and it kinda ruins the spontaneity of it all if you have to call up and ask "would you mind coming over so I can try to use my sexy sexy voice and woo you with you guitar leetness?"

And yes, it is a granny that intruded, and I understand that not all of the elderly have held onto all their marbles. Even in The Sims they must drop a few here or there - hell even more so in game because of the insane and inappropriate traits.

But sadly, it wasn't just the old bag who thought it was ok to get in nice and close. Others joined.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I mean really people, c'mon now! Give the guy some space to try and get into Ayesha's pants. Then again, they are already pulled almost half way down so maybe they don't think he needs that much effort... lol!

I've heard a few times of other players buying parts of business in town but had yet to see the option or do it myself. In fact, I didn't even know how to do it until the other night. Of course, it's as easy as selecting the option on the menu choices when it appears. I'm not sure if it appears after you reach level 10 in your career path, or perhaps how many times you visited that particular place because the first (and currently only) business that offered me part shares was the local diner - a place Max eats at every day.

Photobucket

I had no plans to buy into any of the businesses for Max. But when the opportunity was placed in front of him, I decided why not. After all, how many real life celebrities are involved in those Hard Rock Cafes? And ironically, this is a cafe. Also, as mentioned, Max has eaten there nearly every day of his life so far - it's only now that he's starting to eat at the more up market bistro as he's more aware of his figure and thinks that perhaps having everything deep fried or close may not the best for his figure. Because he's now the big star and no longer running around after them instead, he's not burning off as much calories. No one really likes a fat rock star...

He also feels like he knows the owners and it just felt like something he would like to be apart of. Plus... who can so no to passive income?

Photobucket

The only downside to buying in is that it used the last of my money (left me with $62) so I can't really get started on the house extensions that I had planned, but I figured Max can slum it for a bit longer.

I haven't decided if I'm going to buy out the other partners, although I am considering it. I just don't know if that means more work of responsibility for Max or not - like if he owns it and something goes wrong, will he be held responsible? I part hope so, but that also makes me hesitant to take that sort of responsibility on board.

I also haven't decided if I'll start buying into more business or not. I don't want to go buying up everything just because he can. I want them to have meaning in his life. I might buy into the theatre for example as he worked every day there and it seems like something he might be interested in. I could also buy into the grocery store because technically, they probably help supply the diner, so it would make sense there.

But for now, his little diner is keeping him more than happy...

The option to become a partner comes up when your sim household has enough money. It will show up for most of the other venues once Max holds more concerts and autograph sessions ;-)

I've only had one sim household buy out the entire business. It was the bookshop. The extra options seemed to be renaming it (which I tried and it worked a charm) and hiring/firing employees, which I didn't try. It doesn't seem terribly interactive though, so I imagine there isn't too much hard work and not too many consequences.

Now, I've read somewhere (I can't remember where so I'm not sure if it's true) that when you switch active households you lose the deeds from your inventory and your sim no longer owns the business, effectively losing your money. I'm not sure if you can sell the business again to recoup your money, or put the deed somewhere on the lot so that it doesn't disappear, but watch out for that if you change households. I suppose the same thing holds true for rewards like the collection helper?

So many sim questions... I don't think I helped at all there! ;-)

Thankyou Elizabeth!!

Although Max could perform concerts while he was working his way through the music career ranks, he never got paid for them. Until now! Given it's meant to be his main source of income I'm kinda glad about that lol. I recently read on another site that you can apparently make a few thousand per concert. With that (incorrect) knowledge, I had planned to only throw one concert on a Friday and a follow up on a Saturday.

Given it was a Saturday, I figured I'd throw one right off the bat.

It was actually right after my autograph session so I figured with that many Sims already out the front, it would be a good turn out. I've got no idea if the money you make is based off ticket sales, but in case it was, I might as well make use of the crowd.

I don't know where I read that you can make a few thousand, but I'm thinking I'm going to hunt the site back down and correct them. A few thousand? HA!!

Max

Yeah... I hardly consider that enough to start phoning in the mansion makers. Given the concert only took an hour or so, I marched right back in and held another. I figured I'd just consider the gap intermission...

The second concert did a little better with Max earning $672.

Curious to know if the money earned was perhaps based on the number of concerts held and might in fact go up with each one, eventually reaching the rumoured 'few thousand', I quickly threw a third - after all, it was only 9pm lol. Unfortunately my thinking didn't work out as I only made a further $450... bugger.

I discovered a cool and very deserving bonus to being a rock star - autograph sessions! If the limo Max is now chauffeured around in isn't enough of a give away to his fame, the ability to get mobbed outside a venue with Sims clamouring for his signature and a touch of his hand certainly is. And the best part? I actually get to be INVOLVED!!

One of the biggest issues a lot of simmers have is that most of the work place community buildings are nothing more than rabbit holes. Your sim disappears into them leaving us standing outside just waiting for the end of the day with not much else to do. I think nearly everyone had high hopes that we'd actually be able to go inside with our Sims and see what they did in there. Even Max's recent investigation of the graveyard catacombs left me standing outside twiddling my thumbs...

Thankfully, autograph sessions are interactive. And bloody hectic LOL!

Ok, so unlike real life rock stars, Max has yet to be randomly approached for his autograph. Instead, in the Sims, you organise sessions at various venues around town. So far, the venues I can see that you can hold sessions at are:

  1. Little Corsican Bistro
  2. Hogan's Deep-Fried Diner
  3. Ever Fresh Delights Supermarket
  4. Divisadero Budget Books
  5. and Sharma Day Spa
Since Max is in Sunset Valley, just change the names for Riverview. Basically the two eateries, the supermarket, book store and Spa.

All you have to do is select the option to hold a session at any venue you prefer while in the map view. Since you're such a super star, it's organised straight away and you get a message such as the following:

Max

I don't actually remember hiring a publicist lol, but if they're going to take care of all the organisation I've got no problem with that. My limo arrived straight away and took me to my location, dropping me out the front. I chose the community theatre since that's where Max worked his way through the ranks and I kinda figured I owed it to them to have my first session there...

Max

This is where it got confusing for me because there was NO message on what exactly I had to do. I just assumed Max would disappear inside and then reappear once it was all over. Wrong. It's up to YOU the player to actually sign the autographs. What you'll see is something similar to this:

Max

While you're standing out the front, you have sims practically mob you - I don't remember seeing so many Sims in one place at one time before. To make it trickier, some fans bring friends along, so not everyone there is after your autograph. What you need to look for is the book symbol that appears above some of their heads. For those sims, you can left click and chose to either sign autograph or interestingly enough, refuse autograph. I guess even rock stars can get picky...

Once you get a few lined up the franticness of it all dies down. There was no time counter or any visual indication of how long I had left to sign, so I just aimed for as many as possible. (I didn't pay attention to what time I started, so didn't know when the 4 hours was up...) Adding to the difficulty of trying to click the right sims in amongst the crowd, is the option to end the session early. For everyone you click, you have the option to end the session, so if you're not paying attention, you can accidentally click that instead of sign.

I assume I must have clicked it without realising as the session ended very quickly and a few sims didn't appear to be too happy with it. But, overall, I still did quite well out of it. I certainly didn't expect to earn money from it... ok, well I was hoping I would, but wasn't banking on it lol.

Max

Once you have held a session you have to wait (not sure how long yet) before you can do another. I guess with that much money involved, they don't want you to holding them too often. I'll be looking to hold these fairly regularly if that's the sort of money you can make - it's time Max upgraded his house from a little shack to something more 'rock starish'...

I had my first real awkward moment last night in The Sims. With Max's time now pretty much all free except for when he wants to work (I'm thinking concerts on Friday and Saturday nights to keep the income coming...) he's looking to other things to fill in his time. I figured music icons must spend a lot of time in the Gym if their bodies are anything to judge by. I was actually watching Pink in concert on TV yesterday and looking at her figure, there's no way she doesn't know what the inside of a Gym looks like.

So, in tyring to keep with a bit of realism, I hooked Max up to the pumpinator 1000 and started working on bulking him up. He's already nice and fit from all his jogging, but a few extra sit ups will keep his 6 pack nice and full.

Unfortunately, sending him to the Gym resulted in my first real awkward moment. Melani rocked up. Now remember this is a different Melani to my main one - I know this confused a couple of people recently. Max and my main Melani are in different cities. I've actually been wanting to find a way to change this Melani's name to something else to stop it being confusing. But I can't find any answers to changing the names of non-controlled Sims. I'd have her move away, but I feel really bad at the thought of booting her out of town LOL.

Anyway, when Max sat down at his station, Melani sat up at hers. Check out the close up of Max's face...

Max

Now the reason for the awkwardness is because Max has been avoiding Melani. Mostly because it is confusing have her in two of my stories, and I'd like things to be a little less complicated. Actually, that's pretty much the only reason lol. That doesn't really explain the look on Max's face however. I can't tell what that is - perhaps a longing? Does he have feelings for her? Or maybe he's just feeling apologetic for treating her so bad? What about jealousy of her six pack lol? I'm really not sure...

If it wasn't the fact they have kids together, I'd have Max pay her moving costs and I would move her out of town. But, the kids... I feel really bad heh. That is, until I noticed this little factor...

Melani Married!

Um, who's Eric?!

That's right, Melani in Sunset Valley is... married. I find this ironic since the Melani I play as my family (Rivervew) had the big issue of her partner Hal cheating and having kids with both her and another woman. And now, here's this Melani doing the exact same thing. Well, I don't know if she's got kids with Eric, but she's certainly cheating. And if she has got kids with Eric, then it is the same thing!! Either way, how has she explained to Eric where the kids have come from?!

So now I'm thinking I can use this to not feel so guilty about moving her away. I'm thinking something along the lines of Eric not being pleased with Melani being so close to Max - because clearly she has feelings for him. And in an attempt to reclaim his marriage, Eric needs to move Melani far away. Which would allow me to move this Melani out of the town and avoid some of the confusion that comes with having multiple "me's" in my cities lol.

For those who are confused....

  • Family #1 - Max, who's had kids with the original Melani I placed there.
  • Family #2 - My second Melani who I placed for some information, then ended up keeping around and playing full time. She has two kids to Hal who also had a child to some other woman.
  • Family #3 - The Waters family, which most should be fairly well read up on about recently hehe
  • Family #4 - Nicky Dees. My thief character and someone I play sporadically when I want something easy.

All four families are across separate towns. So I have four versions of the game saved that I jump around between... :)

I had some work I needed to make a start on tonight, so I loaded up Max to play beside me since he's one of my more... simpler families - what with no kids and all that. I also knew he was close to maxing out his music career and I was curious to see that happen.

It actually ended up being a double whammy as Max reached max Guitar skill earlier in the night as well:

Max

I would like to see him use an electric guitar or something now. After all, he's a Rock Star, not a country music singer. I really can't stand that there's only one style of guitar available, and that it's a poxy one at that. But I'd feel pretty bad if he got a funky guitar before Piano's or at the least, keyboards were returned to the game. I'm sure I'd have a lynch mob after me if that happened.

It was very easy to max his career all things considered. Obviously it took a little longer than most others would because I jump around my families and have, currently, four different Sims I spread my time between. But, we got there in the end. Max is also the first of my Sims to reach the peak of his career, amusing since he was not one of my intended "main" families, instead created for a bit of fun on the side.

Max

What I was really surprised at, and I have to say, very disappointed about, was the complete lack of fanfare when he finally reached rock stardom. I mean c'mon, he's a big enough star now to not have to work a 9 to 5 job and simply earns money for concerts he puts on, and this was all he got?

Yes. That's it. He walked out, got a wardrobe upgrade, adjusted his cuffs and then wandered off. What a let down! I was expecting at the very least some balloons, a bit of a cheer or an air punch. I had hoped for a movie scene showing girly fans all going weak at the knees, people clamoring to get his autograph, something.

All he did was go over and talk to Michelle Roberts (I think he has a thing for her). And, given the time (Max finishes work at 1am), I really don't think she cared. What do you think?

Max announcing his super stardom (I assume...)
Max

And... Michelle's response. Perhaps like a "Big woopdie doo man!"
Michelle's response

I dunno, the body language just doesn't scream super supportive to me. Then again, I'm not the friendliest person when I get tired lol.

But still, congratulations to Max for fulfilling his life time wish, becoming a Rock Star and peaking as a young adult. It's all down hill from here mate...

While Max was distracted by Ugly Melani, and trying to not to stare, Melani decided to broach the whole "let's take the next step" relationship killer - she asked Max to move in with her! Dun dun duuunnnn....

Move In

I did find it really cool that a Sim I don't control proposed the moving in. It's nice not to have to make all the decisions myself. But now I also have a new sympathy for men.

See, my vision for Max is to be a rock-star. I want him to live the life of a rock star. A REAL rock star!! Not one of today's new age, floppy haired, high pitched, baby faced teenage heart throbs. Max rocks hard, parties harder and is currently sleeping his way around town - YAARR!! \,,/

He's not the rock star that wants to settle down with just one woman and play happy families. And honestly, I don't want the responsibility of a little women (who looks like an old hag now anyway) that has 3 kids, two of which are newborn twins. Yes yes, I know, they're MY kids and I should be more careful if I don't want the responsilibity, but ... He's a rock star baby!

So, in that moment, when the game paused and the 'big question' is glaring at me in the face, I felt a sudden kinship with all the commitment phobic, never want to grow up men out there that are just "not ready" for something like that yet. I was a deer in headlines, muttering, uuh, uuh, um, like, um...

I didn't know what to say.

Max hadn't had any wish come up to move in with Melani - sleep with yes, multiple times, but move in? No, none of those wishes yet. And given his current 4 wishes involved 3 other women, I really didn't think it would be a wise move to accept. I did consider accepting it and then just continuing to live out the rock star life and see what happened from there, but he's not that much of a prick heh.

So, after an uncomfortable silence, with a knot of guilt in my stomach, I clicked the X. No, he did not want to move in.

My eyes were glued to the screen. I was bracing for a slap, a burst of tears or to be pushed in the pool (see previous blog post and take note of the background). But, nothing. A few moments of silence - no talking, no, nothing - and then Melani left. Naw, what a brace face she put on.

I really wish there were more interactions initiated by other Sims in town, I don't always want to be the one having to ask the questions or make the contact. I want Sims who just rock up at my front door for a visit, not just call once in a blue moon. And I kinda get annoyed at those messages that pop up reminding you that you have to maintain contact to keep a friendship and that your Sim and xxxx Sim are no longer friends. Well, we ALL have mobiles now right? And they work both ways right? Why am I the one that always has to call them?!

And if I remember correctly, when I was reading up on The Sims 3 before it was released, there was mention that you could bump into other Sims in town. But I'm not really seeing that either - not in the "oh my goodness, I haven't seen you for ages, let's grab a coffee" kinda way. My Sims talk to others in the park, but then they'll also pass right past their "friends" without so much as a wave. And I've yet to be asked if I'd like to have a coffee... nope, always me asking.

LOL, life is just so hard right...?

See how hard Max's life is... these are all his wishes at the moment. Notice the theme? All women! LOL!

Max is well on his way to super stardom! He's received another promotion and this time, is the backup singer. Wahoo!

I was kinda hoping the music career might feel more 'rock star' though. Really sucks that you can't see into their work places, so really, every job is the same except for the clothes you wear, and the messages you get. Oh yeah, and the cars, because I still get the tour bus hehe. But outside of that, it's really all the same, and I must say, a bit boring.

I did have to laugh at poor Max and this message:

Aaah, someone get this suit off Max! This was after one of his promotions, I believe the scout one, and I can't believe how fugly it looks! Rockstars, even up and coming ones, don't wear suits!

I jumped on Max last night after having god knows how long a break from him. He's my rock star Sim, and I have to say, leads a boringly easy life. Get up, eat, shower and head to central park to play for tips. Work, come home, eat, sleep. Rinse and repeat. He did get a promotion however which sees him only work 4 days, and it's nice having that 3rd day free to do what ever I want, which, doesn't seem to be a lot.

See, I'm playing him as the slightly stupid rock star who doesn't do anything for himself. The best he knows to cook is grilled cheese, and clean? What's that. He fixed his toilet the other day, but I figured any idiot given a plunger would eventually figure it out anyway, so not really something unique to his lack of abilities. If he's not eating or sleeping, he plays his guitar. All. The. Time! Even when I don't tell him to.

I've started getting him to throw parties, since party animal is one of his traits. I was surprised even a formal party at the local museum, where all he did was play his guitar (I had the wish for formal party, and play guitar at a party so combined them), came out a smashing success. He didn't mingle, there was no food, no drink - but yet, it will be talked about for years. Sweet.

I do like the car upgrades I've been seeing with each promotion though (I got two last night). LOVING the SUV:

And how about THIS for a ride?! I so didn't expect it, I only wanted to go to the grocery store, it just rocked up...

Aaaaweesome!
